Initial Assessment

The first video appointment will always be an initial assessment with a highly trained clinical professional, During the appointment, you can explain what you are seeking help with and the therapist will ask you questions to find out about your personal, family and symptom history. They will also ask about different aspects of your life, such as friendships, education and major life experiences. The therapist will then advise you of what your symptoms might be to do with, or how they can be further assessed as well as making recommendations for ongoing treatment.

If the patient is a young child, the parents will attend the initial assessment alone. Teenagers attend with their parents or carers and there is time during the appointment for them to speak with the clinician alone. Young adults (18+) can attend alone or bring a trusted adult if they would like to.
